Over 15 days, we’ll cover 2,500 km through mountains, valleys, and historic towns. Along the way, you’ll pass Mai Chau’s green rice fields, the caves of Phong Nha, Khe Sanh’s war sites, the royal city of Hue, the lantern streets of Hoi An, the highlands of Kon Tum, and the seaside charm of Nha Trang and Da Lat.

15 days: Ho Chi Minh Trail Motorcycle Tour from Hanoi to Saigon

Day 1: Mai Chau (170km /105Miles)

Hanoi to Mai Chau Motorbike Tour on the Ho Chi Minh Trail: Start early and ride west toward Mai Chau. The road takes us along Highway 6, through rice fields and limestone mountains.

After lunch in Hoa Binh, we climb the scenic Thung Khe Pass before descending into Mai Chau Valley. The village sits among green hills and feels calm and welcoming.
In the evening, we share dinner at a stilt-house homestay with the Thai people. 

Day 2: Tan Ky (290km/180Miles)

Mai Chau to Tan Ky Motorbike Tour on the Ho Chi Minh Trail: passing quiet villages and scenic roads along the Ma River. After lunch in Cam Thuy, the journey connects us to the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail.

By evening, we arrive in Tan Ky, a small, peaceful town far from the big cities.

Day 3: Phong Nha (280km/170Miles)

Tan Ky to Phong Nha Motorbike Tour on the Ho Chi Minh Trail: We start the day riding to Pho Chau to see the Ho Chi Minh Trail victory monument. The road takes us past historic sites before reaching Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park.

Here, we discover ancient karst mountains, vast cave systems, and emerald rivers.

Arrive later in the afternoon, check in and enjoy a cold beer by the pool.

Day 4: Khe Sanh vía Western trail (220km/ 136Miles)

Phong Nha to Khe Sanh Motorbike Tour on the Ho Chi Minh Trail: We leave Phong Nha and ride the western side of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the most scenic stretch with quiet roads, towering mountains, and wild forests.

Along the way, we explore the old US Marine base with its tunnels, airstrip, and war museums at Vinh Moc Tunnels. The ride feels peaceful yet full of history. After a long day on the trail, we arrive in Khe Sanh for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: DMZ to Hue (190km /120Miles)

Khe Sanh – Vinh Moc Tunnel – Hue Motorbike Tour: We ride east from Khe Sanh along the 17th parallel, once the border between North and South Vietnam.

The road takes us to historic sites like Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels.

In the afternoon, we ride Highway 1 down to Hue. By late afternoon, we reach the city, rest for a bit, and then head out to explore Hue’s charm at night.

Day 6: Hoi An (160km/100Miles)

Hue to Hoi An Motorbike Tour: We wake up early in Hue to explore its treasures—ancient tombs, the imperial citadel, quiet pagodas, and street food that tells its own story. After a morning of history and flavors, we ride south along Highway 1.

The road leads us over Hai Van Pass, a winding mountain stretch where sea and sky meet in endless blue. By sunset, we roll into Hoi An, where lanterns glow by the Thu Bon River and the town’s old-world charm welcomes us.

Day 7: Hoi An beach and fun

Enjoy a free day at your leisure in Hoi An. You may choose to relax at nearby An Bang Beach or spend the day exploring the charming historic town on your own. Hoi An offers everything you need for a memorable day.

Day 8: Kon Tum (290km /180Mile)

We start in Hoi An and ride through the scenic mountains roads to Kham Duc. The road takes us over the curving Lo Xo Pass, where the air feels fresh and the views stretch for miles.

Along the way, we see Ba Na villages on the hillsides, with children waving as we ride by. Near the Laos border, the road leads us to Kon Tum, where we end the day and rest for the night.

Day 9: Buon Ma Thuot (240km /150Miles)

We ride out of Kon Tum and head into the Central Highlands. The road takes us through Pleiku city and across the Ia Drang Valley.

From there, we follow small backroads near the Cambodia border, crossing jungles and stopping at Yok Don National Park. The dry landscape along the way makes the ride unique. By late afternoon, we arrive in Buon Ma Thuot, check in, and relax by the pool for the evening.

Day 10: Nha Trang (230km/ 142Miles)

We leave Buon Ma Thuot and ride on smooth roads to the coast, first we stop at Dray Our Falls, a short before carrying on to the Highway 1 to Nha Trang. The views take your breath away—cliffs above the ocean, long sandy beaches, and clear water with coral below. By evening, we check into the city, walk along the seaside, and share a delicious seafood dinner.

Day 11: Boat trip off the islands

Time to relax and re-charge your batteries. Nha Trang is the beach capital of Vietnam. Spend the day at the beach, or join a boat trip off the main beach to one of the many islands.

Day 12: Dalat (170km/105Miles)

We leave Nha Trang and ride 170 km into the cool highlands of Da Lat. The road climbs past mountains and pine forests until we reach this peaceful city.

People call it “the city of love.” With fresh air, flowers everywhere, and coffee shops on every corner, it feels like a place you could fall in love with at first sight.

Day 13: Cat Tien (190KM/ 118Miles)

We leave Da Lat and ride down Road 20 toward Cat Tien National Park.

First we de-tour to visit Dam bridge waterfall, meet locals and probably swim in teh cold water. Carry on through the small villages.

When we reach the park, the air smells of forest and adventure. This is the kind of place where you can walk, watch wildlife, or just enjoy being surrounded by nature. If you come between December and May, the dry paths make exploring easy and fun.

Day 14: Mui Ne (175km /110Miles)

We leave the green national park and drive toward the east to the beach town of Mui Ne. Once a small fishing village, now a tourism hot-spot for locals and those involve with windsurfing.

Arrive and relax at the resort with fresh cold beer, this is the last day of the trip.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City (280km/ 175Miles)

Get together in the last day of the great ride. We carry on the ocean road, longer riding hours, but beautiful yet amazing coastal road. We arrive at Vung Tau for lunch, enjoy the last lunch and then arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in later afternoon. End o the trip
