How we organize motorbike touring in Vietnam
To have a smooth motorcycle ride from hello to the goodbye, all our tours depart early in the morning just to save the day and run from the busy traffic of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. However to ride motorbike in a mass of crazy city traffic is sometime interesting experience so if any experienced riders want to try it, our answer is always “YES SURE”. Most of our tours start and finish in Hanoi however upon on your request we can design the customized ride to start and end in any cities of Vietnam.
What about the guide & rider?
All our guided motorcycle rides include from 1 to 2 tour guides (groups of more Ethan 5, will have 2 guide). They all have good demand of the interesting mountain routes therefore you just ride safely after them and enjoy the scenery and special things along the way. For us at Vietnamese Motorbike Tours, thing to make a wonderful trip is not where to go but it is how to go, who to go with and what to see along the way.
Those influence on the way we organize and plan a motorbike ride for you.
How are the itineraries are planned
We always do our best to design a motorcycle itinerary which can be most suitable to your demand, and we are ready to accommodate those unexpected rides that may alter your plans at the last minute (travel delays, bad weather, changing road conditions). We are flexible and always willing to discuss making necessary changes to your itinerary. For example, a challenging and extra technical off-road day can be tentatively scheduled: People with new-found riding confidence can elect to try it, while the others with illness or fatigue might opt for an easier route.
How far do we ride per day?
From 3 hours and more, since ,motorcycle touring is a special holiday and involved riding, therefore our tours are organized based on the distance, city we lodge and the duration of your trip. Tours usually start around 8.00 AM and end at “beer o’clock” – around 5 PM. We will make a stop every one hour ( Maximum is 1 hour ride, then stop for refreshing, taking photo and or just chill ) to visit special attractions, enjoy scenery, take pictures or have rest with local drinks. We are touring in Vietnam, not racing in Vietnam.
What to do with the luggage?
“What to do with the luggage?” this is the most popular question every single rider is asking us and our answer is that on our tours each rider has his/her own bike with saddle bags so we can help to keep your necessary belonging safely in the saddle ones or tie your bigger bag at the back of your bike. We also provide support truck vehicle, usually for the groups of 5 and more and can be arranged upon request, which can carry whatever you would like to bring with. In addition, bring a suitcase when you fly, carry small items on a bike ride, the rest will be send by post to the final destination so when you arrive you will have your luggage. This way is more suitable since you can take your own favorite helmet and riding gear.
How we organize Food & Accommodations
After a long riding day with a lot of activities, We know a comfortable place to rest for an overnight is a special concern. A relaxed and enjoyable accommodation is not only to state the quality of the riding but also to get the energy back for the possibly hard riding days for the coming days.
From basic local homestay to the hotels & resorts with pools
We can say Vietnam tourism infrastructure has been developing rapidly and we make sure about the accommodations when on motorbike ride with us. Our accommodations cover from simple homestay in remote regions to the upscale 5 star in bigger cities.
However, the planned itinerary by us will be following almost in remote regions where accommodations are not like other big towns, so we’ll stay mostly at the standard hotels or basic home-stay, most of them with pools. But don’t’ worry, they’re surely safe and the equipment are comfortable enough for you to have a good sleep.
Most of the towns we stay during the trip are pretty small where there may be only one or few little basic hotels; however, they will have most of standard equipments for you to have a safe and comfortable stay such as soft mats, blankets, mosquito nets, Air-conditioning, clean toilets and good wifi. We sometimes tour through some big cities/touristy areas and we can have better choices to stay in a better 3 or 5 star hotels, this is depend on your tour class.
Local Foods for an authentic experience
Staying with the local family, cooking and having meals with them and sleep in their houses is a special experience which includes in all of our planned touring, we simple want you to experience a local culture as well, not just ride from A to B. The photos above are include some of the homestay we stayed, see the equipment you can expect to have at the homestay: private mats, blankets, mosquito nets, fans, clean toilets…and great view and peaceful atmosphere.
We would like to say food on the tours is one of the most important reasons to make our clients come back for more. The foods served almost local Vietnamese food on the tour. Generally, Vietnamese food is light but it’s surely not boring and so healthy. We can be sure all food is fresh with a lot of vegetable (the reason Vietnamese are skinny). We sometimes choose a basic roadside restaurant for meals but food is always fresh and plenty to choose. Such as famous PHO (rice noodle soup), BUN CHA (special noodle with grilled pork), NEM (Spring rolls)
The local people have different methods to cook so we can be sure you can have different food for each meals during the long motorcycle tours in Vietnam.
Final words on Organizing motorbike tour in Vietnam
Our tours can also easily be planned to include free days to let you relax on your own. Take a rest between riding days, go for beach day or spend an extra day at our favorite region in the quiet back country of green hills, rice fields or little beautiful town between the mountains.
Riding experience is necessary to have a perfect motorcycle trip, organized and planned your way. For non-experienced rider can travel as a pillion passenger on the bike of tour guide or other friends. We also provide a motorbike ridding lesson for beginners and non-experienced riders with a friendly cost. We can also offer 1 hour to practice riding motorbike for free for ones who used to ride motorbike but haven’t ridden for many years.
